In England 1 in every 100 families with young children are forced to use baby banks.
The total number of referrals to baby banks has increased by over 500% in the past 5 years.
People predominantly use baby banks due to increasing poverty but they are also used by refugees and victims of abuse.
There were 4.1 million children living in poverty in the UK in 2016-17. That’s 30 per cent of children.
Child poverty blights childhoods. Growing up in poverty means being cold and going hungry.
Two-thirds (67%) of children growing up in poverty live in a family where at least one member works.
